When Yamaha built the world's first production e-bike in 1993, it was impossible to foresee how the world of personal transport would develop over the next 30 years. Each model in Yamaha's extensive range of eBike systems has been designed to create the ultimate feeling of unity between rider and machine. Equipped with modern technologies such as automatic support mode and Zero Cadence technology, all drive units in the PW range offer a very special, unrivalled riding experience.

Another new feature for 2023 is Display B, a simple, robust and reliable system for recreational riders who want to get started right away. With its central mounting and large-format display, this intuitive new development is the perfect partner for the PW S2.

DRIVE - Special features from Yamaha

Over the years, Yamaha has built up a reputation as a manufacturer of eBike systems with high quality standards and excellent reliability. Maintenance-free: None of the drive's internal components need to be replaced at regular intervals. You can ride for miles without having to worry that your trusted technician is not nearby. Highly resistant to external influences and overheating. This means more range and effortless mastery of all climbs.

Automatic support mode
All sensors monitor the riding conditions. Algorithms automatically select the optimum level of pedal assistance. The result is a finely tuned, user-friendly ride. The algorithms are defined individually for each drive unit in the range, so that the expected riding experience is created for every situation. If you want to switch between the support modes manually, you can also switch off the automatic support mode.

The quad sensor system
The quad sensor system supplements the sensor system with an angle sensor to detect the bike's angle of ascent or descent. There are also sensors for speed, crank speed and pedalling torque. The system automatically recognises the riding conditions and delivers the required assistance and acceleration.

Yamaha has channelled its many years of motorsport experience into the support functions for its eBike systems. The result: a powerful yet natural and intuitive riding experience.

BATTERY & CHARGER

Yamaha batteries are designed for a wide range of bike types. Yamaha eBike systems include a complete range of "Multi Location" batteries with a compact, elegant shape. These are easy to integrate into the frame and give frame designers plenty of design freedom. In addition, we have been offering down tube batteries and rack batteries for a long time.
