About XLC
XLC's journey began in 2003 with the ACCELL GROUP N.V.'s idea to market its own brand of bicycle components: XLC, x-cellent bike components.
Initially, XLC is installed as original equipment for bicycles of well-known ACCELL brands. Handlebars, stems and seat posts were the main products used. From 2005, the XLC brand is initially sold to specialist bicycle dealers in Germany and Austria via the Winora Group - a subsidiary of the ACCELL GROUP. However, other European countries such as France, Spain, Holland and Italy were quickly added to the sales area. Today, XLC is an internationally active brand and is available in more than 40 countries through selected specialist bicycle retailers. The XLC brand portfolio includes bicycle parts, accessories and clothing - customised to the needs of the cycling community worldwide.
What types of seat posts are there?
The correct height of the saddle is crucial for transferring power to the pedals. For this reason, the seat post must be individually adjusted to suit your body height. There are basically three types of seatpost: the classic, the suspension and the dropper seatpost.
What headset types are there?
Threaded, A-head, semi-integrated or integrated headsets. There is a wide choice, but when buying a new headset you should always make sure that all relevant installation dimensions such as offset, bearing shell diameter, thread diameter etc. match your old headset. In addition, the installation of headsets often requires basic knowledge of bicycle mechatronics.
Grips and handlebar tape for the right comfort and control
With a trekking bike, ergonomics should take centre stage. You can find trekking bike grips with and without a side bar end. On long rides, these have the advantage that you can change your grip and therefore overall position more often. MTB grips are designed so that you have full control of the handlebars in every situation. Many grips are equipped with a screw clamp ring, which makes changing them with standard tools child's play.
Handlebar tape is available in different versions and designs. Handlebar tape has a major influence on riding comfort and ensures a perfect grip.
