The Schwinn Airdyne AD6 combines cross trainer with upright bike. This innovative fitness device can be used to train the legs as well as the upper body. The Schwinn Airdyne AD6 works with an air resistance system. The air resistance is exponential. This means that the harder you pedal or move your arms, the greater the training resistance.
Data on the LCD display:
The console displays the individual training values.
RPM: The RPM field displays the current revolutions per minute (RPM). The maximum value displayed is 100.
Time: The TIME display field shows the workout time. The maximum time displayed is 99:59. If the time exceeds this value, it is restarted at 0:00. When the device is switched on for the first time, the altitude ("Alt") is displayed here. The altitude at which the device is operated must be entered here.
Speed: The SPEED display field shows the training speed in "KM" (km/h) or "M" (miles per hour) with one decimal place (e.g. 3.5 or 10.5). The maximum value displayed is 99.9.
Dist. (Distance):
The DISTANCE display field shows the length of the training distance (miles or km) to two decimal places (e.g., 2.07). The maximum value displayed is 99.99. If the distance exceeds 99.99, the display starts over at 0.00.
The odometer ("Odo.") displays the total of all completed training distances. It is displayed when training is interrupted or can be selected as an option in console maintenance mode. When first switched on, the altitude ("Alt") is displayed here until it is taken over
Watts: The WATTS (watts) display shows the amount of power you are using at the current resistance level (1 HP = 746 watts).
CALORIES: The CALORIES field displays the approximate number of calories you burned during your workout. The maximum value displayed is 9999. If the calorie counter exceeds this value, 9999 flashes.
Pulse: The PULSE field displays your heart rate in beats per minute (BPM) as measured by a wireless heart rate monitor. The symbol flashes when a signal is received from the chest strap of the radio heart rate monitor. No value is displayed if no pulse signal is received.
Heart Rate Monitor: The best way to monitor exercise intensity is with a heart rate monitor. The console reads the radio heart rate signals from the chest strap. This operates in a frequency range of 4.5 kHz to 5.5 kHz.
