Adjust handlebar
You want to set up or adjust your handlebar? Depending on the model, an Allen wrench or a Torx (six-arc tooth T20/T25) is required for installation.
The following steps are to be done:
- Set the desired handlebar height. Check that the handlebar is at right angles to the longitudinal axis of your bike.
- The headset screw (or Ahead headset) on top of the handlebar in quarter turns hand-tight (not too tight!) Close.
- Afterwards, with the brake applied, check that the handlebar is tight in the steerer tube (bicycle fork front) and can no longer be moved back and forth.
- Turn the handlebars so that you can comfortably grip the shift levers and brake handles with your fingertips and your wrists are aligned straight.
- Then tighten the bolt(s) on the side of the stem.
You should be able to turn the handlebars to the left and right without any problems after the adjustment. In addition, the handlebars should be adjusted so that your arms are loosely extended and your wrists are slightly bent when riding. Different grip positions on the handlebars are advantageous for relaxed riding.
