More information about the manufacturer

The still independent brand now enjoys real cult status among connoisseurs of the scene. Specializing exclusively in mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes, the Spanish mountain bike manufacturer continues to successfully go its own way with frames in the typical Forward Geometry. The developers tickle out the maximum performance from every part of the bike. Thus, the brand proves, even with parts such as the stem or the saddle there is room for improvement. The most popular materials for modern bikes are currently aluminum and of course carbon. Light, torsionally strong aluminum or carbon frames ensure easy handling and maximum directional stability. In addition to Forward Geometry, the Zero Suspension System is currently one of the latest technical innovations.

Which coats or tires does Mondraker use?

When it comes to tires from the factory, Mondraker swears by Maxxis: depending on the model, your bike comes with Maxxis Ikon, Maxxis Rekon, Maxxis Aggressor or Maxxis Grifter.

What kind of bikes does Mondraker build?

The manufacturer divides its bikes into the categories Downhill, Superenduro, Enduro bikes or All Mountain, Trail, Cross Country, Urban Cross and Kids. Each category is served with several models in different equipment variants. These include the classic mountain bike, such as the Foxy, the e-bike or e-MTB as a hardtail such as the E-Prime or comfortable e-fully, such as the currently popular Mondraker CRAFTY R or the popular e-Crusher model series. Flame Red and Light Blue are the typical colors of the manufacturer. These are also the colors worn by team riders from their own camp. Flame Red stands for burning passion, Light Blue for the sky.

What is the Zero Suspension System?

Zero is Mondraker's in-house developed, highly efficient and powerful suspension system. To achieve the highest possible drivetrain efficiency and maximum suspension performance, Zero is custom tuned for each Mondraker model. This means that there is an individually perfected Forward Geometry for each model, from the small Factor 24 or F-Play 24 to the World Cup & World Championship winners Summum Carbon and Summum Aluminium. Zero is based on the Dual Link design and belongs to the category of virtual suspension systems. The unique and exclusive feature of Zero is that the damper floats between two suspension links and is compressed at both ends. This makes the rear suspension extremely sensitive to the smallest bumps and still offers top performance at all times, even with harder hits.

How do you pronounce Mondraker?

Often the name is pronounced "Moondraker", as if the English word for moon was the initial syllable of the brand name. However, the emphasis is on the "a" and thus on the second syllable. In Spanish, this sounds something like the pronunciation of the German word Faktor.

What does Mondraker mean in German?

In a 2018 interview, Falk Alvarez, an employee at Mondraker Bikes, explained that the name of the brand from Spain is derived from a classic comic book and not - as is often assumed - from an early James Bond film.

Which frame size do I need?

For optimal performance, everything simply has to fit. You can find out for yourself in just a few steps what size a frame, whether it's made of steel, aluminum or carbon, has to be to fit your body size. The manufacturer of your new bike also plays a role. Just follow the instructions in our bike advisor and find out in which size you should buy the model of your choice. Last adjustments to your physics allows of course the adjustment of saddle and stem.

Which is better: an aluminum or carbon frame?

If you have a rather limited budget, you won't go wrong with an aluminum frame. An aluminum bike with high-end features definitely makes more sense than a carbon bike with sacrifices in components like gears, headset, saddle, different bearings, etc. However, if you are willing to spend a little more and place great value on the riding characteristics of your new bike, you should definitely consider the high-tech material. The so-called flex, which takes the rough vibrations out of the handlebars on stony trails or on uneven roads or increases the traction of your bike in bumpy curves, is just one example of the properties of a carbon frame that make for a completely different riding experience. Especially on an e-bike or e-MTB, with which you usually reach higher speeds, this effect is clearly noticeable.

What are the team colors of Mondraker?

The team riders are recognizable by the colors Light Blue and Flame Red. Flame Red is supposed to symbolize the burning passion for cycling, blue marks the sky, which mountain bikers with bikes of the manufacturer quickly approach.
