MFT

Balance training for the whole body

Stability training at the highest level: Balance Boards from the world market leader MFT have been the first choice for top athletes, physiotherapists and amateur athletes for years.

So-called balance trainers are good aids for coordination training and rehabilitation. Due to the movable, unstable surface, the body has to make corresponding balancing movements to maintain balance. This also activates deeper lying muscle groups and mobilizes joints. At the same time, exercises on a balance trainer train body awareness and coordination skills. In rehab, physical therapists often use balance trainers such as balance gyroscopes or therapy gyroscopes after knee, foot or hip joint injuries. In senior sports, balance training is helpful in preventing falls.

What is MFT?

The company MFT Bodyteamwork GmbH has its headquarters in Kirchberg in Tyrol. The founders, Claudia and Ewald Aigner, produce training equipment that provides coordination, balance and stability - the so-called Balance Boards. More than 400,000 of them have already been sold in the DACH region alone. And even local ski stars - from Hermann Maier to Marcel Hirscher - rely on the innovative training equipment.

With the Challenge Disc 2.0, the company is focusing on gamification. By means of sensor technology, the tracking of one's own movements is made possible on various end devices. In addition to scientifically based training and therapy programs, the Challenge Disc app also offers games to motivate users to train regularly.

What is the difference between balance boards and balance pads?

Balance boards have a stable tread surface mounted on an attachment. The user stands on the tread of the Balance Board and can train his coordination by balancing on the heel of the Balance Board.

Balance pads are made of a soft material and provide an unstable surface. As the Balance Pad yields to loads, the body takes over the compensation and thereby trains balance and coordination. For this reason, these training devices are also used in functional training.

Air Pads and air cushions or seat cushions are filled with air on the inside and are therefore also flexible. In contrast to balance boards and balance pads, air cushions are usually used as a seat pad, which activates the abdominal and back muscles while sitting.

With strong core muscles comes improved posture and back pain can be avoided.

In short, balance boards and balance pads are fun to use and provide numerous positive training effects. Not only can balance and body awareness be improved - balance boards are also ideal fitness equipment for increasing motor skills, fitness and strength.
