Bike CHECK

What to do?
For the bike check, you should plan one to two hours of time and already think in advance of a few materials to quickly perform the repair. It doesn't require any special tools, just a multitool or multifunction tool.

CLEANING
At the beginning of the maintenance, the bike should be cleaned with commercial detergent and water - extra bike cleaners can also be used. Attention should be paid to the frame, fork, tires, wheels/rim flanks.

Tip: Never use a high-pressure cleaner to wash your bike. Attachments such as gears and brakes will suffer considerable damage.

If the bike has been carefully cleaned  (here you can find a guide to bike cleaning), you should look for cracks and scratches, especially on:

  • Frame, fork, seat post
  • handlebars, stem, handlebar clamps
  • Tires and wheels

If there is no damage to the frame or supporting parts, you can winterize the bike with simple means. However, if there are noticeable defects on the bike, you should urgently visit a specialist dealer.

The following should be done during a bike check:

  • Check tires
  • Check brake pads
  • clean, degrease and oil the chain
  • Attach mudguards
  • test lights, replace batteries
