How it all began...

Dainese was founded in 1972 by Lino Dainese, a 24-year-old motorbike enthusiast at the time. In addition to his great interest in contemporary art and design, he has always been driven by an irrepressible curiosity and passion for research. Since those early days, the mission of the Dainese brand has always been to progress and promote safety in dynamic sports through the use of innovation and ergonomics.

Dainese's commitment to performance and safety has always been so strong that it could not be limited to the motorbike sector. It has grown steadily to include cycling, skiing, equestrian sports and, more recently, sailing. In 2007, following the acquisition of the world-famous Italian helmet manufacturer AGV, the company was finally able to turn Lino's original dream into reality: protection from head to toe.

Technologies

ARMOFORM PRO

Armoform is a substructure that is characterised by its supportive fluting. The structure is thicker in areas exposed to heavy loads and thinner at the edges to guarantee freedom of movement and flexibility. The polyethylene hard shell used for Armoform sets new standards: it is able to disperse impacts over a larger area, glide over the surface of the impact and prevent "punctures", resulting in fewer injuries from sharp objects such as stones and branches. World class protection at high speed!

CRASH ABSORB

Special material (water-repellent elastic visco-nitrile rubber) with shape memory and excellent force absorption, which adapts perfectly to the shape of the body and ensures an optimum fit.

FLEXAGON BACK PROTECTOR

Flexagon redefines the standard of protective comfort with its innovative construction. The exceptional flexibility is supported by overlapping layers of Crash Absorb® memory foam that move independently of each other and follow the anatomy of the body. The ergonomic pattern of soft hexagonal pads offers comfort and maximum freedom of movement (6 sides, mobility on the 30°, 90° and 150° axes) as well as efficient protection.

PRO ARMOR

PRO ARMOR sets standards in terms of breathability, ergonomics and protection. This is achieved through a functional pattern inspired by fractals - the language of nature used to create complex structures - which now characterises Dainese's new protection design. With the ultimate blend of mobility and protection, the low-profile design offers unrestricted freedom of movement and comfort throughout the day while meeting the European standards for impact protectors according to EN 1621.1.

PRO ARMOUR + ABS

Pro-Armor technology is the soul of the protector. Its structure, inspired by naturally occurring fractals, enables comprehensive and highly flexible coverage of the entire outer area of the knee, i.e. the front and sides. This also protects the sensitive lateral bones. The protector is made from a carbon-elastomer compound, which enables it to convert impact energy into heat: the impact force can thus be distributed over the entire surface of the protector. This means that only 17% of the actual impact force is transferred to the body. In addition, the special chemical composition ensures that the protector becomes rigid on contact with an obstacle or the ground, making it even more effective protection against injury. The tibia and kneecap, which are particularly at risk in the event of violent frontal collisions, are protected by an additional ABS plate. This material is also used for ski helmets and is capable of absorbing repeated, violent impacts - even if these impacts are caused by sharp objects.

PRO-SHAPE 2.0

The Pro-Shape 2.0 protector is inspired by auxetic materials: These naturally occurring shapes have the ability to expand in all directions when pulled or pushed. It is made from carbon elastomer and can absorb 83% of the impact force without any of it being transferred to the body. Its surface is 55% open, which ensures a continuous flow of air and optimum evaporation of sweat. Thanks to its pre-curved structure, the protector adapts perfectly to the rider's movements, guaranteeing superior stability and freedom of movement.

TRAILKNIT

TRAILKNIT is a material produced by electronic knitting machines: In the process, yarn loops are linked together with needles. This knitting construction differs from traditional fabrics as it is more flexible and easier to produce. TRAILKNIT was developed to create elasticated garments that respond to the rider's movements. A garment with a knitted construction adapts better to the shape of the body as it fits snugly thanks to its elasticity. Knitted constructions also allow additional curvatures to be inserted without seams - similar to the heel area of a sock. Thanks to the knitting technique, extremely complex fabric constructions are created: The yarn in TRAILKNIT fabric runs in a convoluted manner, can change direction seamlessly and create different stitch patterns: This allows high-performance zones to be created in key areas.
