Hydraulic brakes
The range of hydraulic brakes includes
CLARKS M4
The M4 4-piston hydraulic disc brake, Clarks' most powerful hydraulic braking system to date, provides the powerful, modulated braking action required to cope with the increased forces generated by e-bikes and downhill riders. It features a new, sleek design, 4 x 16 mm self-adjusting pistons per caliper and a 2-finger lever with reach adjustment. The M4 is available for the aftermarket in a 180 mm front wheel and a 160 mm configuration.
CLARKS E-CLOUT
Clarks has also introduced the e-Clout. Designed specifically for electric bikes, it has all the benefits of the popular Clout braking system but with two key improvements: 2 x 22mm caliper pistons for increased stopping power and longer reach four-finger brake levers. Together, these features provide the rider with greater leverage and better braking control. For additional braking power, the e-Clout comes with semi-metallic pads as standard and is available with 180 mm and 203 mm front rotors.
CLARKS CMD-24
For riders who prefer the simplicity of a mechanical disc brake but still need the extra braking power required for an e-bike, Clarks has introduced the CMD-24. The CMD-24 is a high performance caliper with a wider brake pad that provides more braking power than the smaller disc pads found on most mechanical calipers. The set is available in 180 mm front and 160 mm rear configurations and comes with semi-metallic disc brake pads as standard.
E-BIKE DISC BRAKE PADS
These three brake kits are supported by a range of e-bike specific brake pads designed for the popular e-bike disc brake systems. The Clarks e-bike brake pads utilise a formula that combines a high carbon content for efficient heat dissipation with a high brass and iron content to ensure reliable and powerful braking.
Other product developments in the existing Clarks hydraulic brake range include the introduction of the Clout Plus, Clout Junior and M2 Junior. The Clout Plus is similar to the E-Clout and features a larger caliper piston and an extended brake lever, offering the rider improved braking performance compared to a standard Clout 1 brake set. The Clout Junior and M2 Junior models have the same proven features as their "senior" counterparts, but with the addition of a shorter reach lever. These two new Junior models allow Clarks to bring the benefits of hydraulic brakes to riders with a shorter reach, including younger riders who may find a standard lever too difficult to control.
Outside of the brake kits, Clarks has introduced a new range of Centre Lock rotors, all made from 6061T6 aluminium. They come with Quick Release or Thru Axle retaining rings and are available in 160mm, 180mm and 203mm sizes.
