• How fast can you ride your e-bike?
  The maximum speed for e-bikes is 25 km/h in Austria. However, there are also faster e-bikes - the so-called S-pedelecs - with which you can ride up to 45 km/h. Torque and position of the motor

One thing is for sure: the motor is the heart of an electric bike. When buying an e-bike, pay attention to these characteristics of the motor:

• Torque: Depending on the routes for which you want to use your future e-bike, a specific torque (specified in Newton meters, or Nm for short) is required. On flat trails, motors with 60 Nm of torque are sufficient. On steeper terrain, however, a motor with 80 Nm of torque is advisable.
• Motor position: E-bikes are available with front, mid or rear motors. In the meantime, however, the mid-motor has become established on almost all e-bikes. This is mounted on the pedals and has the great advantage that the center of gravity of the bike is low and centered. E-bikes with hub drive, i.e. front or rear motor, on the other hand, have the advantage of being lighter.

Battery capacity

• For climbs (uphill) and longer rides, a larger battery (e.g. 750 Wh) is advantageous.

Depending on the intended use, you should also pay attention to the wheel size (specified in inches) when buying an e-bike. In our online store, you can choose between 27.5 inches and 29 inches. The larger the diameter of the wheel, the greater the driving stability. Here are a few differences at a glance:

• 27.5 inch wheels allow an agile ride and are also suitable for small frames.
• 29 inch wheels are characterized by extremely stable steering behavior, excellent rollover properties and maximum comfort in rough terrain.

Frame size and shape

For maximum riding pleasure with your future e-bike, you should also not neglect the frame size and shape. The optimal frame size always depends on your personal height, stride length and arm length.
