What types of locks are there?
U-locks are among the classics in securing bicycles and not without reason. Solid material and no moving parts outside the locking mechanism provide an excellent starting point for the toughest resistance.
Cable locks have special qualities when comfort and manageability are the focus. Their light weight and amazing flexibility make them a popular security solution for occasions where basic protection is sufficient.
Folding locks combine the flexibility of a chain lock with the stable security of a U-lock. They fold up like a folding rule to a compact size and attach well to the bike.
Lock and chain combinations are an excellent choice for securing bicycles. Because of their flexibility, they offer a high level of convenience and many options for connecting bicycles to fixed objects. A vehicle that is connected cannot be easily lifted away, which is a real safety plus.
Frame lock s are the basic security for almost every bike! The practical frame locks are an easy and quick to use protection against unauthorized use of the bike. Through connection options with accessories such as chains or cables, the bike can be protected even more effectively against theft.
The same applies to the thin spiral cables as to frame locks: they do not provide enough security to leave the bike unattended. Here, the locking mechanism plays a rather subordinate role, since a side cutter is usually sufficient to break the cable.
