ASSOS began developing innovative ASSOS cycling clothing, ASSOS cycling shorts and ASSOS jerseys in 1976 with company founder Toni Maier. He developed the first Lycra shorts and anatomical skinsuits. The new materials led to better aerodynamics, weight advantages and no moisture absorption. The padding was also adapted to the athlete's anatomy. Toni Maier dedicated himself completely to textile research and development.
